Private training is an invaluable tool to set you and your cat(s) up for success. We can work on whatever you and your cat need or would like to learn from addressing aggression between cats in the household, problems with dog-cat relationships, destructive scratching, litter boxes or marking problems, fearful or aggresive behavior, etc.

Common training needs

Aggression

Living with a dog with aggression can be one of the most stressful things. Whether it's barking and lunging on leash, aggression towards dogs and/or people, aggression when people come over to your home, etc. I can work with you to help  them feel and act differently.

Basic Manners

Whether your dog has been around for a while or is a new addition to the family there can be some common unwanted behavior that it's time to address. From leash manners, to recall work, jumping, digging, running out the door, barking, or basic cues/ commands, etc. By working together we can have your dog be a polite member of the family, who is a blast to have around!

Separation Anxiety

This condition is truly heartbreaking and can be extremely disruptive to our lives. Fear of our dog's destructive behavior or risk of harming themselves can create a situation where we are unable to leave them home alone. Fear not! There are solutions

Puppy Training

Puppies are adorable but are learning and growing so quickly that they can become a handful. Through training we can help manage common puppy behaviors like; chewing, potty training, biting, etc. and prevent unwanted behavior from developing. Setting your puppy up to be an easy-going, confident adult dog.

Fear and Anxiety

It can be sad to watch our dogs experience the world with so much fear or become stressed so easily that they become overwhelmed in normal situations. The good news: there are ways to build up your dog's coping skills and confidence, allowing them to experience the world with you.

Children and Dogs

Mixing kids and dogs together can sometimes lead to some complicated situations. Together we can create a training plan to manage, prevent and address those situations that may arise; from aggression to stroller walking to teaching the children about dog behavior to building up the dog's trust in the kids.

First, we start with a a behavior consultation at your home, where I will gather more information and history about your dog, determine what is causing the behaviors and show you how to change those behaviors or implement new ones where applicable. This session typically lasts 2 hours.

This allows us to create the most efficient, effective and custom training plan for you and your dog. All based on your specific situation, goals and the dog's behavior.

An additional follow up session may be scheduled about one to two weeks after the initial consultation, dependent of your goals, to assess and fine tune our training protocol. Fees: $260 for the initial consultation which includes CA sales tax, a detailed write up from our session, access to a client only facebook group, travel to and from locations within 30 minutes of Fair Oaks, CA, email and phone support after your initial consultation. Follow-up sessions are $120 an hour.
